The Griffon Bruxellois or Brussels Griffon is a breed of toy dog, named for their city of origin of Brussels, Belgium. Today's Brussels Griffon was developed through three crosses to Pugs and eight crosses to English Toy Spaniels.
 
Brussels Griffons are social little beings but can be reserved with strangers, making them excellent watchdogs. A sensitive companion for discerning grownups, the Brussels Griffon is smart, devoted, and comically self-important.
